A Mortgage Origination Team Lead is responsible for overseeing a team of mortgage loan originators and ensuring their success. This role involves strategic planning, team management, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management:
- Recruit, hire, and train new team members.
- Set clear performance expectations and goals.
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback.
- Motivate and inspire the team to achieve high performance.
- Operational Excellence:
- Develop and implement efficient processes to streamline the loan origination process.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team productivity and efficiency.
- Identify and address operational bottlenecks.
- Ensure adherence to compliance regulations and industry best practices.
- Sales and Production:
- Set and track sales goals for the team.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to generate leads and referrals.
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including real estate agents, builders, and lenders.
- Resolve client issues and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure a positive client experience throughout the loan process.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in mortgage loan origination and team leadership.
- In-depth knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and closing procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- NMLS license required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with various loan products, including conventional, FHA, VA, and jumbo loans.
- Knowledge of mortgage banking software and CRM systems.
- Strong sales and marketing skills.
- Leadership experience, including mentoring and coaching junior team members.
